Focus on head and neck tumors – from diagnosis to follow-up care
The University Clinic for Ear, Nose, and Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery Magdeburg, headed by Prof. Martin Durisin, cordially invites you to an information event on the topic of head and neck tumors. The event is aimed at patients, their relatives, and anyone interested in learning more about diagnostics, treatment options, and support for those affected.

The focus will be on both medical aspects and support services available to patients throughout the entire course of their illness. Various specialist areas such as palliative medicine, social work, psycho-oncology, speech therapy, and oncological nursing will present their work and offer insights into their respective support services. The aim of the event is to provide valuable information, answer open questions, and promote exchange between specialists, those affected, and interested parties.
The event will be opened by Prof. Dr. med. Martin Durisin, Director of the University Clinic for Ear, Nose, and Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery. Experts will then provide information on important aspects of care, including expectations, fears, and wishes in palliative medicine, as well as social security entitlements and counseling services for cancer patients. In addition, insights into psycho-oncological support in coping with illness will be provided. Another item on the program is dedicated to the importance of voice, speech, and swallowing function for quality of life despite cancer. Finally, information will be provided about oncological care counseling at the Head and Neck Tumor Center.
