August 24, 2026 - Following a fire on a gastroenterology ward at Cracau Hospital, approximately 70 patients were safely evacuated within a very short time. One patient suffered smoke inhalation, and two others sustained minor injuries. Medical care remains available; the operating rooms, emergency room, and intensive care unit are still in operation. Parts of Ward B remain closed for the time being; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
