How the Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology works

In the Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology (GPOH), physicians, scientists, nurses, psychological and other professionals work together with the goal of providing the best care in the fields of tumor research, tumor prevention, early tumor detection, tumor diagnostics, tumor therapy, and follow-up care for malignant diseases and blood disorders in children and adolescents.

In this context, children with cancer in Germany are cared for in therapy optimization studies or registries in order to bundle expertise and to be able to treat the children in the best possible way. The heads of these studies of the pediatric oncology society are assigned by a vote of the GPOH members (after concept submission and review).
